Linkin Park

Linkin Park is a five piece Numetal/Electronica outfit hailing from Agoura Hills, California. Since they were formed in 1996, they have gone on to sell more than fifty million albums and have won two Grammy awards. Their debut album, “Hybrid Theory” was a massive hit, selling more than 4.8 million records during the debut year. Linkin Park is: Chester Birmingham on the vocals, Mike Shinoda does the emcee, guitar, vocals and keyboards, Joe Hahn on the turntables ,Rob Bourdon on the drums, Brad Delson on the lead guitar and Dave Farrell on the bass guitar. The band was started as three high school friends, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Rob Bourdon jamming together after school. After graduation they began taking their music lesson seriously and recruited Joe Hahn, Mark Wakefield and Dave Farrell into the band. The band was initially called Xero, but when Wakefield left and was replaced by the present vocalist, Chester Bennington the band decide to change the name to Linkin Park. It was basically a play of words and homage to Santa Monica’s Lincoln Park. The band’s music is an amalgamation of nu-metal, electronica and alternative rock with a heavy dose of synthesizers and programmed beats.
